Independent

I searched for my memories
In my home's rubbles and debris
I looked for familiarity
In an unknown locality
But all was in vain and only caused pain
I found all I was looking for in an unexpected place
One I've known as long as my time alive began to pace
Everything was right here, within
The things that matter always are
I didn't need to worry about what will end and what may begin
Because physical distances can't determine who’s actually near or far
I alone am my own being
Not my house, city, country or anything or anyone I'm accustomed to seeing
For I must walk alone...
With the comfort of my benevolence and the brunt of my misdeeds, well borne
