A Euphemism called ‘LOVE’!

Sleepless, restless, nights that are found at the end of nervous and anxious days

Distasteful, silly fights that have led to separate ways

And when it ends it leaves behind a wounded heart

With faces buried in wet palms as your world falls apart

Storing all the feelings in your head and calling it the ‘heart’

Heart throbs that are like heart attacks when you part

Your heart rises above your head

You are declared alive if your heart beats even when your brain is dead

Even after that someone's long gone they can still hurt you and make you cry

And makes you roll in laughter, smile and be the last person you think of just before you die

You're engrossed with someone across all dimensions, in every sense and all spheres

Someone's voice is music to your ears

When you see that someone it's a treat for your sight

Someone's scent appeals to your smell

Someone's name is all your lips can spell

Someone's touch just feels perfectly right

When time seems seamless

And despite all of it is spent together it is still less

You can't account for give or take...

There are no conditions to make or break

It’s hard to measure the level of equality...

And certainly not something that can be tamed within a quantity

Dreams believed to be reality

That bowed to emotion’s tyranny

If it didn't work carrying a broken heart all along

Hoping that someday all will be right although currently all may be wrong

Someone's care can nurse you to good health

Your happiness is someone's greatest wealth

Waiting for someone forever even if that person may not return ever...

It happens just once and doesn't seem to happen again even in a time called never...

Or let’s say it happens truly only once in forever

If you think it can happen again perhaps it hasn't yet happen to you ever

Even at its fullest might and power

It's rarely equal or at par

Sometimes it's sweet, sometimes sour

It really depends on whether that someone is near or far

When distances are measured in minutes and hours

And time apart is measured in terms of Mars

Habitually doodling that name in the sand grain

Finding an extra boon for each and every bane

At the mention of a name when you can’t help but smile…

As others banter, thinking of that someone all the while

Humming mindlessly amidst a judgmental crowd

Smiling thinking of moments that made you proud

It drives you crazy yet you are the most sane you’ve ever been

It hurts like hell, at times, but it’s the best of times you’ve ever seen

It’s something you could even die for

Yet, if it’s in your life, no matter how much you have of it, you’ll still want more

Heartbeats that have skipped on occasions so many

Making wagers to be together forever with fate and destiny

Concealing the glow that radiates with the mention of a certain name

Turning every boring second in to a romantic waiting game

Plucking off petals from roses to make the heart gloat

Sinking in a bottomless pitcher of complications yet feeling buoyant and being afloat

The rising of the pith as you meet

Falling head over heels, again and again, with every heartbeat

Each time trying to take the bull by its horn

Contemplating when it all began and when this complex situation was born

Pouring your heart into a stranger (earlier) unknown

Laying a red carpet as one walks towards your heart’s throne

Saying an earnest prayer each time someone’s life isn’t fine

Losing track of oneself in addition to the day, date, month and time

Caring for someone beyond compare

Finding reasons to talk about them to everyone, everywhere

Being oblivious to the world around

Talking to yourself, losing your senses, just going out of bound

Seeing dreams of the future with open eyes

Finding the truth in every obvious blatant lies

Developing a secret language that is known only to the two

Discovering the dancer, singer and poet in you out of the blue

You find yourself writing long letters and mails

You begin to believe in the 'happy endings' of fantasy-filled fairy tales

All the words in the world can't seem to explain or express the feeling inside

It's an ailment that doesn't seem to get cured even after every remedy has been tried

An unknown new feeling messes with your head

Someone can make you blush till you turn red

You start showing interest in an unfathomable mystery

You begin to see romance even in History

Life just seems to pass by with a smile on your lips

You consider yourself to be a master of the game and are generous with your tips

You go crazy looking for something you hadn't ever lost to begin with

When Utopia is all you can believe in and Dystopia is an impossible myth

When happiness perks

When fate smirks

Sorrows sulk and sadness lurks

In every shadow of darkness with someone's thought you find the light

And even after all the battles are lost, for someone's sake you are ready to fight

Someone's honour and glory has become the motto of your life's story

Somewhere you know you're falling in 

And if it hasn't yet begun it will soon begin

Because some outsider has shifted within

You feel like you've been taken for a spin

Your Heart develops a personality of its own

And your heartbeats acquire a musical tone

You start seeing that someone everywhere

In reality that someone's just in your thoughts not actually there

Being in it adds a new dimension to you

Embracing it is an experience of which you never knew

A selfish yet selfless you is soon born

And to a formerly unknown unheard of commitment you are sworn

Yet you cannot assume, although as strong as it is, it can stand unmoved or alone

Like everything in life, to situations and circumstances, adverse or favourable, it is prone

Trying to be interested, for the sake of that someone, in something you are not

A certain someone is in every fragment of your each and every thought

Some of its memories may fade away but the feelings linger on

Its sweetness never relents and yet its bitterness is never completely gone

If you've been in it long enough it becomes an inseparable part of you

If it ever reduces it not only empties your heart and life but drains you too

Just the way its birth cannot be traced its death is untraceable...

Some believe that it does end yet most believe it’s immortal

When to someone you can be completely true

And accept that someone, without any quid pro quo, the way one has accepted you

You don't wait for people to pass away to cherish their value

You make the most of your time together and ensure every dream comes true

You can take on someone else's sorrows

The past can be forgiven and forgotten for better tomorrows

Its intensity doesn't diminish over time

To you that someone is always prime

It doesn't matter if you are near or far because the distance, in between, only increases its power

Its mesmerizing feeling cannot be ignored

No matter how much time you spend together you don't get bored

Makes your heart feel young no matter how old you are

It can happen anywhere, anytime to anyone, age is no bar

When you call someone with every possible name in the book

When you can't help catch a glimpse and steal one look

The rest of the world seems to disappear

The person who matters seems to be the only one here

It is that someone's soul that appeals to you

It's a message of divinity that seems to get through

When life's actually complicated yet feels simple

They say it shows on your nose through a pink pimple

Like an arrow that pierces the heart

It feels sure like the bulls eye was hit on the dart

The world seems to begin and end at someone

Your head and your heart are lost yet you've won

Just for its sake you can change to be your best

Because your heart has chosen that someone from the rest

When as per someone’s birthdate or important numbers your passwords are set

And you remember them, believing that they are thinking of you, for every hiccup you get

When you start seeing the beauty of everything

When even in space you hear birds sing

When life is a dream realized

And every moment you are surprised

Forget taking your eyes off when you can't take your mind off a person

To you every word someone speaks is gospel and every sentence a sermon

When there's no time for anything or anyone else

In your veins you can feel that someone's pulse

With someone around all your senses heighten

And even though your guards are down your guts tighten

When everything under the sun falls in place

When you are bowled over by someone's kindness and grace

When everything around may lose its meaning yet all makes perfect sense

Irrespective of that someone being there or not you feel their presence

You finally appreciate the blue skies and the green grass

You finally figure out how frozen time can pass

They say nothing lasts forever but you're sure this will

And every adventure together brings along a new thrill

When countless times your inner self enquires about your feelings for that someone dear

When each time you reply with three distinctive words into your heart's ear

That special one is all your eyes can search for

When someone just walks through your mind's door

When you find someone so pure

When someone's smile has every possible cure

Tears from another's eye makes you cry

Looking in to someone's eyes you just can't lie

When logic and reasoning take a back seat

When the earth shifts from right beneath your feet

In winters when you find the warmth of summer and every season feels like spring

You hurt proof yourself and no hardships seem to sting

You wait for Winter just to cuddle someone

Spring becomes synonymous with someone's smile

No matter how harsh it is, you can only feel the warmth of the Summer sun

You begin to appreciate the beauty in Autumn's dried leaves pile

Every season provides a good reason to celebrate your feeling

Irrespective of how extreme it may be each weather seems appealing

In the cold when there's a hand to hold

When someone's presence turns the heat into a pleasant treat

And the rains provide a romantic dimension

You walk through life's weather without any tension

Being in it is more of a boon than a bane

And every effort to stay away from someone goes in vain

When melancholy dusks begin to seem romantic

When every dreamy night seems whimsically dramatic

When you wake up to someone's reality like a dream come true

And in the afternoons waiting to meet someone is all you can do

Every fairy-tale and fantasy that ends happily seems like your own tale

Happiness is robust and troubles are frail

When you know that someone’s love is keeping you alive

And with that love at your side, through all adversities you can survive

Someone’s with you through thick and thin

When you don’t have to look outside as your strength lies within

When you find someone written in the lines of your fate

And that someone is indeed your soul mate

While thinking of someone the wrinkles on your forehead disappear

And your latent drives reappear

Although there's no real way to measure it

You always think yours is more for that someone by at least a little bit

It is responsive and mutual

And if it isn't it's considered unnatural

Adversities challenge you and circumstances test you beyond your wits

Yet it’s so strong that, come what may, you don't call it quits

For that someone you stand your ground

Sometimes even when that person isn't around

For the deeper it gets the more unconditional it becomes

The more it’s tested the stronger it turns

When if need be you can handle the fort alone without any despair

And yet believe that someone's always there

You have no recollection of being sunk or low

You always feel buoyant and are on-the-go

Opportunities begin to knock your door

When you finally admit that you couldn't have asked for any more

Whether pleasant or adverse everything just passes by

And you see it through without a twitch or a sigh

Something is lost yet it has just been found

It's like an epiphany so profound

The greatest of greatest have bowed to its enchanted powers

In vain, they have pondered over it for countless hours

You aren't sure how you lived life so far without that someone

But are sure you can't live the rest of your life without the one

You can share your space with someone without feeling intruded

The feelings are not superficial but really deep-rooted

Life seems to be as special as it can be

And 'I' very naturally becomes 'we'

You have no qualms about agreeing to disagree

Someone may belong to you but they are free

If thoughts don't match there is no hard feeling

When 'live and let live' seems fair and appealing

You enjoy each other's company beyond belief

It's all-in-one, the joy, pain, remedy and the relief

Someone is embedded in your pensieve

When it's the best you thrive to achieve

No matter what, you wouldn't cheat, you are fiercely loyal

And although your heart is enslaved to someone else it treats itself as some royal

The mind seems to feel like it is in a palace of dreams

Life seems like a movie showing on silver screens

Every apprehension seems to disappear in thin air

The head feels comforted, floating well above realms of despair

You start reading someone else’s horoscope as well

You begin to care what their stars tell

When a moment can’t pass without thinking about someone

And if it does, it feels incomplete and undone

When you give away your heart and can’t take it back

Every fight leads to a heartache and appends a crack

When in someone’s company you find serenity

You begin to worship someone as divinity

You start celebrating Valentine's Day and thank a certain angel called Cupid

Wearing matching red and standing with a boquet of red roses doesn't feel stupid

Despite having heard all the horrendous things people say

You fall in it anyway

The only thief you will not only forgive but also go crazy about

Is the one and only you are convinced about without a doubt

Opening up yourself to that someone seems to happen naturally

You feel like being honest with someone without any third degree

And with that someone your conscience feels guilt-free

When you want to share everything you know without any hang-ups or hesitation

You know then that your heart has reached its destination

And in someone's questions and answers you find your own explanation

That's when you just know it

You've bitten that exciting bullet

Although you've been shot dead but you feel more alive than ever before

And you just can't seem to get yourself to ask for anything more

You won’t change your mind about someone with whom your heart has been exchanged

That someone, unknown earlier to your fate, has now been named

For stealing someone’s heart you are blamed

And the person who stole your heart too has been framed

Your imagination begins to run wild and your inhibitions are tamed

For someone you can stay hungry and thirsty the entire day without any compulsion

And that too not for superstition or tradition but just for pure passion

With someone in your arms every moment, each day...

Life stays out of harm’s way

Age doesn't matter as it's ageless

It liberates you like a bird that’s cage less

It’s the air in your lungs and the wind beneath your wings

It’s in the blood of your veins and sound with which your ear rings

When the paths of two journeys intersect

And two hearts have accidently met

Lines of fate and destiny too finally seem to meet

While every thought dances to each heart beat

As boundaries and distances gradually dissolve

Some unexpected of feelings and emotions evolve

Life seems afloat on a bottomless pool of joy and pleasure

As though it has found an inexhaustible treasure

As long as your heart is there

You will feel that someone every time and everywhere

It is like divine blessings have knocked on your heart's door

Like dew drops from Heaven pour

There's so much to say

But words seem shelved away

As if kept for another day

You fall in its abyss only to rise

Each day is filled with novelty and a pleasant surprise

And every moment is to cherish, treasure and prize

It has its own course of ups and downs

But somehow your smiles, by far, out do your frowns

It feels right no matter how wrong the world deems it to be

It is strong no matter how meek it may seem to be

Two souls merge in to one

And their conviction surges to the Sun

A revelation dawns upon you

You just know it's sure, pure and true

It's here to stay and for the keeps

And its enigma makes it way and seeps

No pain is just skin deep

And every happiness is steep

You know smiles are here to mop up every tear

When you can always say 'I did, I do, I will'

Across all three dimensions of time your feelings spill

Someone’s designated as your anchor’s keel

Everything that someone does is a big deal

Your heart carries that someone’s stamp, signature and seal

There is no hurt that special one can’t heal

Although so much has been written on this subject, it’s still hard to express how you really feel

The realms of life and death are dissolved

When this immortal feeling is involved

You not only accept but also cherish someone for who they were, could be and are

And are committed to that someone irrespective of whether they are near or far

Life is as magical as it can get

You are on a winning streak winning every wager and bet

You flaunt someone else's enigma

And don't care about the society's stigma

Someone's panache is reflected in your style

It remains in vogue forever, all the while

Conversations, comprehendible, can be made with unspoken words

People around call you 'Love Birds'

The bliss of being in it exceeds the risk of the pain it can cause

Once you're in it, your heart's forever set on the play button without any pause

It's the only time you let a happy sigh

You can't get yourself to say 'bye'

All the pain and gain you have gone through as per the list above

Is nothing but a euphemism called love!
